Business cards have a wide range of variations. Every small detail from the font ink to the thickness of the card is variable. The cost of the printing and the methods used are additional factors. The choices are endless, but all business cards are expected to have minimum standards. In other words, the average business card has basic information on it, such as the company’s name, logo, phone number, email address and/or business hours. Once you get the basics done, focus on at least 5 five types of designs for your business cards.
1. Embossing and Debossing
These terms are probably not ones you are familiar with. An embossed print has the images and/or letters raised, which is similar to braille that blind people use. A debossed print has the words or image sunken into the card.
2. Thickness
The thickness of the card is another consideration. The thicker the material is, the longer it lasts. It is possible to buy a card that is double the thickness of an average card. A very thick card is difficult to tear up and designed to last for years tucked away in someone’s wallet.
3. Finish
There are two main types of finishes used for business cards: gloss and matte. Gloss is very shiny and feels smooth to the touch. Its lustrous appearance is similar to the look of a newly waxed car.
Matte is not shiny or reflective of light. A matte finish covers the surface of the card and protects it from damage, but it is barely visible to the eye.
4. Color
Anyone agrees that color is the most important feature of any card. When it comes to brochures, catalogs and magazines, printers need many different color options. First and foremost, they want colors that are bright and pop out from the page.
For the most vibrant cards, your option is to choose full color and colorTHICK business cards. Use a printer that supports color printing over the black-and-white version.
5. Graphic Design
Graphic design is the method that you use to elaborate on your creativity. Create designs that are made only on the computer and not by hand.
Every business owner has a collection of business cards on hand. You need to reach out to people and get them interested in your services. If you care about business, do not settle for average cards when there are so many different designs out there.
