Welcoming Our Neighbor Bulletin announcement

Call for volunteer mentors: Welcoming Our Neighbor, a new program sponsored by Protestants for the Common Good, is looking for volunteers to welcome a family who have recently relocated to [insert your community’s name here] from a public housing project. As part of the program, the family has expressed interest in developing a relationship with members of a local congregation. Volunteers would befriend the family, introduce them to their new community, and, potentially, help to build up the social networks that the family left behind when they took the courageous step to move out of public housing and into an “opportunity area” community.

While sometimes families have a need for donated/used furniture, no financial assistance is involved.

Protestants for the Common Good would provide introductory training, and the relationship could be as involved or detached as volunteers desire. This is a wonderful way to introduce and integrate this new family into our community!

Contact [insert name/contact info of local contact person here] for more information.

"In that obedience which we have shown to be due the authority of rulers obedience is never to lead us away from obedience to God."
- John Calvin
